Any unwanted and unused furniture donations are always welcome to go into our furniture project. You donations help people suffering from furniture poverty, people who don't have a bed to sleep in, a sofa to relax on, or a table to sit at and eat. Real people are struggling daily and CARE's furniture project helps them in anyway we can, but with your help!
We are always in need of the following:
Sofas and arm chairs (but with the fire label attached)
Bed frames and/or clean mattresses (again with the fire label)
Wardrobes
Drawer units
Dining tables & chairs
Other donations include:
Dinner sets
Pots & pans
Cooking utensils
Cots
Baby/children's furniture
Your donation isn't just a piece of furniture, your donation will provide an improvement to people's lives and wellbeing. The effects it can have on people living without can cause serious harm to their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. One beneficiary informed us of their desperate need for a bed. They were having to sleep on the sofa every night which resulted in creating issues with their back. The back pain soon subsided once receiving a bed and a mattress which allowed them to finally have a good night’s sleep.
Another beneficiary was gifted a dining table and chairs and was thankful that their family could now all eat dinner together. As well as allowing the parents to create and spend quality time with their children by having a space to do activities together, such as arts and crafts. These basic amenities transform people’s lives and allows them to live on creating memories, have security, and have their house function as a home.
Hundreds of people have been given a ‘kick start’ through the service we provide, and without your donations these services simply become inaccessible and non-existent throughout our community.
