Food Provision
We have two main ways of providing food to those in need at CARE.
In Grimsby, food is provided in the form of a voucher to a local supermarket, whereby they can go and purchase the food they would like and choose for themselves. For this, a food voucher referral form is required. Please see our 'Empty Chair Appeal' for how to get involved with this.
In Immingham, food is provided in the form of a food parcel. a food parcel referral form is required, please see below for the provisions required.
As part of our emergency food provision to families and individuals here in North East Lincolnshire, who are homeless, vulnerable and needy, we have set up our new cash appeal that will allow us to continue to provide people with food vouchers to help them through an emergency crisis.
We take for granted sometimes the fact that we usually have enough to eat. Put yourself in the position of a parent say, who is wondering what they are going to feed their children that day, or over the next few days. It happens every day here in our local community.
People can easily find themselves suffering food poverty as the effects of the Covid pandemic, redundancy, low wages and cuts to Universal Credit take hold. Each individual is just that, an individual, and their problems are often unique to them.
Food banks are essential, sadly, and the work they do is an example of our community generously reaching out to those in need. here at CARE we want to respond to those who already find their dignity and self-esteem eroded.
We want to help them:
· RESTORE THEIR DIGNITY AND SELF WORTH
· TO EMPOWER THEM TO HAVE CHOICE
· TO BE ABLE TO SHOP FOR THEIR OWN FOOD
· TO RECEIVE OR OBTAIN SUPPORT
This appeal is to your kind, caring and generous nature. It is asking you to have love, compassion, and empathy for people who are often worse off than you.
IT IS AN APPEAL FOR – IF YOU CAN HELP US TO HELP OTHERS – PLEASE DO IT NOW. THANK YOU FROM ALL AT CARE.

Donations of Food
We will continue to collect and deliver any food that is donated to us through the work we do with churches, schools, supermarkets, and individuals as we have done since 2006. We will establish new partnerships with other local food providers in Grimsby and Cleethorpes, who will receive donated food from us and then carry out the distribution of the food parcels during the week to those needy people that find themselves in urgent emergency need.
Thank you to all those that have so generously donated to the Daily Bread Food Larder and our hope is that you will continue to support us in providing food to those most in need in our local community.
Our Immingham Access Point will continue to operate as normal.
Food is distributed principally by referral of an individual from a variety of local agencies in addition to those already identified through the everyday work of CARE.
